The law required anyone hunting or taking game in the state to obtain the appropriate hunting or fishing license, with different licenses for general hunting, big game, birds, and fishing. It established licensing requirements based on residency and required licenses to include shipping permits for transported game and fish, while exempting resident trout fishing from licensing. Presence in the field with a gun or trap without a license was prima facie evidence of a violation.
