[...] Sec. 6. No person shall discharge any gun, pistol or other fire arm, except upon his own premises, and only in proper and necessary cases. No person shall fire or set off any squibs, crackers, gunpowder or fireworks in any street, alley or other public place, or in any yard, public or private, except as may be authorized by a written permit from the Mayor, which permit shall specify the object, prescribe the location, and limit the time of such firing. Provided, that this shall not be applied to the prohibition of the usual demonstrations on the first of January, the twenty second of February, the fourth of July, and the twenty-fifth of December.
