1893 Neb. Consol. Stat. 1231

Abstract
Pt. 1, ch. 5, § 5604: Prohibited the concealed carry of a pistol; Bowie-knife, dirk, or any other dangerous weapon. Violators not fined on first offense exceeding one hundred dollars or imprisoned more than thirty days. Second offense not exceeding one hundred dollars or three months imprisonment.
Summary
This statute makes carrying a concealed dangerous weapon (such as a pistol, bowie knife, or dirk) punishable by a fine up to $100 and up to 30 days in jail for a first offense, or up to $100 and three months in jail for a second offense. However, the accused will be acquitted if they can prove the weapon was carried for self-defense, property defense, or family protection under circumstances that would justify a prudent person while engaged in lawful business. Note these fines are a reduction; in 1875, fines were $500.
